Kitchen Aid Burr Grinder February 3, 2008 Works perfect, had the flaws listed in previous reviews, but for the $$, nothing beats it..Find one...Buy It!
Awesome grinder December 3, 2007 I have killed so many plastic grinders that I just had to do something else. I tend to grind my coffee finder to make it stronger and I just like the taste better. This works the grinders a little harder I think. I also grind 12oz of beans at a time so I run a few batches through with each grinding session. This formula appears to kill most grinders. I have kill about 1 every 9 months.
I have had this KitchenAid for a year now without a problem. It is clearly very oversized and grinds without straining. It is a little quieter then my previous grinders, but I think that is because it does not make a whining sound, but instead a lower growling sound.
The only bad thing about this grinder is the size. It is BIG. Think mixer size and so takes up considerable valuable kitchen space. I end up leaving mine out, but it is quite nice looking and so I do not mind, though others might.
The coffee receptical is glass and relatively resistant to coffee sticking and does not end up cloudy like my previous plastic recepticals did. The feed container is also glass. This allows the whole unit to clean up very nicely.
All in all the unit works flawlessly and is well designed and nice looking. I hardily recommend it for others.
Well worth the money. November 10, 2007 KitchenAid has done it again. Great quality. You can adjust the grind as the burrs wear back to factory settings, and it can grind so fine that you will be amazed. Perfect for those who own an espresso maker.
The glass bean hopper and catcher are nice because it it reduces static so the grinds don't fly all over the place.
Don't worry about the cost...it is well worth it!
Grinding Heaven August 30, 2007 After many burr grinders, both plastic and steel, I have come across the winner. Kitchen Aid makes the idea combination of weight, consistent grind, and flexible coarseness. Fabulous product.
Excellent Burr Grinder! August 20, 2007 I purchased this for my husband who enjoys French Press. This burr grinder is a great value considering how much money he was spending at our local coffee shop. For the coffee connoisseur, this is a great buy! We purchased the Bodum French Press and Milk Frother, and the Aeropress along with this grinder to make a striking cup of cap or just for shots.
